The meeting
met Eugene and Augusta in Nelspruit a week before their wedding day to discuss the big day’s proceedings and to get to know them a bit better. Their positive attitude towards life immediately impressed me.
They had a keen interest in what I was doing and I found that refreshing. I had just come back from my recent Himalayan trip and they were eager to hear of my experiences there. They are also a dynamic and driven duo. They had just recently started their own estate agency.
The big day
After a lovely cappuccino and the photography program worked out for their wedding day we parted ways. The 18th of November was a bright, warm and sunny Lowveld day. No prediction for rain. It was also my first wedding shoot at the stunning Belgrace Boutique Hotel near KMIA airport. I’ve done lots of photography work for Belgrace before and thus knew the venue inside out.
Bride to be
The “getting dressed” photos for Augusta got my first attention. Hair and make-up had a relaxed mood. The best venue where I’ve done these sort of photos at is Belgrace. There is ample space and natural light floods in from all directions. Elegant decor fills the room.
Elegantly dressed
Eugene seemed to be the happiest man on the planet; full of jokes and giggles. He was very cooperative which is quite unusual for a groom. I always find grooms the most difficult to work with.
Next in line were the décor and detail shots. The couple opted for a very bold and dramatic black, red and white theme. It was done by the talented Peta Watts of I.C.E. Events.
I now declare you…
The ceremony was an intimate affair in the garden. With poignant vows, rings exchanged and the kiss sealed they were now Mr and Mrs Oosthuizen.
I want to thank Augusta and Eugene for the lovely opportunity and wish them all the best for their future.
