I was fortunate to help out as second shooter on Jeanette & Jacques’ wedding at Magnolia, Casterbridge in White River on 29 April 2016.
It was a gorgeous autumn day in the Lowveld. While Nedine was with Jeanette getting dressed I took photos of Jacques getting dressed. The ceremony took place at the Methodist Church in White River. A charming building perfectly suited for the occasion. With the formals done and dusted we headed for the blue gum plantation close to Casterbridge to do the couple shoot.
I don’t know why but the Lowveld’s sunset light is just warmer and more golden than anywhere else I’ve been before. Shooting directly into the setting sun we got some amazing shots of Jeanette and Jacques being totally in luurve. A very special Mercedes Benz SE-280 of a family friend was organized to be their wedding car. It is in pristine condition and it occurred to me that it isn’t often you see such an old car that looks as if it had just left the factory.
Magnolia restaurant at Casterbridge played host to the reception which was a joyous and light hearted affair. I want to extend a big thank you to Nedine Schoeman for the opportunity. It’s always great to work with her.
