Melissa and Jean got married at Nou’s Toeka on the Kaapsehoop road just outside Nelspruit. I was second shooter for “Sim(ply)one” Oosthuizen and looked forward to shoot at a venue I haven’t been to before. It was a perfect winter’s day with no wind and pleasant temperatures in the mid-twenties.
I was tasked with capturing Jean getting dressed and it was good fun to spend time with him and his genuine friends. Youtube was called in for instructions on how to put on a necktie and it was hilarious to see how a tie knot can bamboozle four grown men.
The best man brought cigars and it made for some mean looking photos of the groomsmen. Soon it was time for the ceremony and Melissa made a graceful yet quirky entrance. Her excitement was palpable as she stood before the chapel’s wooden doors. The couple’s vows and their relaxed interaction with each other made it clear that they were very much in love with each other.
Gladdespruit runs past the venue and it made for beautiful couple pictures during sunset. I want to extend a big thank you to Simone for the opportunity to help her out.
